The 14th annual Vancouver International Women in Film Festival announced the award winners. The festival, which is one of the most prestigious cinematic events that celebrate the best of cinema created by women, last night at the Closing Night Award Ceremony granted two awards to the short film "Marzieh," as the only representative of Iranian cinema.

The festival, which is one of the most prestigious cinematic events that celebrate the best of cinema created by women, last night at the Closing Night Award Ceremony granted two awards to the short film "Marzieh," as the only representative of Iranian cinema. Dornaz Hajiha, the screenwriter and director of "Marzieh," won the Best Director's Award, sponsored by the Directors Guild of Canada, B.C. District Council (DGC BC). Also, Mastaneh Mohahjer, Marziyeh's editor and producer, won the award for best editing, sponsored by Canadian Cinema Editors.
The short film Marziyeh, an England and Iran co-production produced by the London Film School, made its first international screening at the 14th London Short Film Festival. "Marziyeh has already won many awards including the best short film award at the 7th Iranian Film Festival Prague, Jury Prize at the 34th Tehran International Short Film Festival, the best film and directing award at the 6th Shahr Film Fest.
